I was at an English Festival all day today, and far away from a computer. I heard about Obama’s victory from the SO via phone (I called – I had to know!), but I couldn’t watch the acceptance speech or celebrate with anyone.

The first thing I did when I came home was watch his acceptance speech in Chicago. I am so overwhelmingly happy right now. I am so proud of my country, and so hopeful for the future. We made history today as Americans, and even though I can’t be in America right now I still did my part. I voiced my opinion, and although my state didn’t go to Obama, my voice was still heard. It must be electric in America right now. I wish I was there – but I’m satisfied to have contributed to change.

All day today Korean people have been telling me “Obama! Good Good!” Seeing older Korean men, who speak hardly any English at all, tell me that they’re happy that Obama won is overwhelming.

Today is a great day in history. I’m glad I’m here to see it.

Pictures are from The New York Times slideshow. Obviously I wasn’t there to take pictures. ;)
