Lately I’ve been seeing new kinds of corn dogs popping up in the freezer section of the grocery stores I frequent.
I was in a hurry at Lotte Mart and didn’t get a good picture of this “Well-dog”.
The first corn dog I saw was a “Well-Dog”, which caught my eye because corn-dogs aren’t usually black. I’m assuming this is supposed to be a “Well-being” corn dog. Well-being is the buzzword for the ongoing health food trend in Korea.
I find it strange that corn dogs would belong in any healthy food category.
A few days later I saw two more strange corn dog flavors in my grocery store. I don’t think these are “well-being” corn dogs, but they’re obviously targeting children with kid friendly flavors.
Chocolate flavored, with delicious sausage inside!
Strawberry flavored!
Mmmm. Don’t you want to try one?
Maybe times are changing, but I certainly didn’t need any fancy flavors to encourage me to eat a corn dog as a child. What’s with kids today?

It is confusing isn’t it? It makes me so curious. Can you imagine the marketing that went into creating this?
