I was supposed to write about this a while ago, I have been so bogged down. Recently there was a tragic and unexplained death in a Sauna just outside Daegu.

The boy who died was named Mike, he was only 14 years old and it seems like he shouldn’t have died at all to begin with. His mother feels he could have been saved with proper and timely medical intervention.

It’s all over the Korean blogosphere and in several of the Korean newspapers. There has been an interview with the mother by Seoul Podcast – that is being translated into Korean as well.

Now the mother must pay for her son to be taken back home, as well as legal expenses.

This is an awful thing that happened – and the worst thing of all is that no one stopped to help this boy. No one found the mother (who was trained in CPR and could have helped him). That is truly terrifying.

I won’t go into great detail because I can’t just now, but other people are doing a very good job writing about it. I think people should know when something like this happens especially when we are so isolated and living in a foreign environment.

Nothing will bring this woman’s son back – but at least I can keep spreading the word.
