There is a big scandal in Korea among the expat population over a cosmetics campaign that uses Nazi symbolism to sell it’s whitening product. I considered writing about this here but I think that Brian in Jeollanam-do did a very thorough job. You can read what he has to say here.

I also wanted to write more about the Korean space food which is mentioned at ZenKimchi’s food blog. Instead I’ll just point you guys that way. In addition to the Kimchi mentioned previously the other Korean space foods are ramyeon noodles, a grain bar, and sujeonggwa mix (a traditional cinnamon punch).

So – I’m a lazy blogger. I’m mooching off of other people’s stories.

Friday is a long day for me. My schedule this year smushes all my second grade classes into the end of the week. I teach 5 classes on Thursday and 6 on Friday. It’s not so bad – except that the constant need for me to pay attention to disciplining the students is exhausting. I wish i had more time to think and plan at the end of the week. I’m not at my best when the week begins, and I’m struggling to be productive with my planning hours on Monday and Tuesday.

Completely random – I think there is yet another demonstration outside. It’s ridiculously loud – so loud that I think when I leave school and walk down to the bus stop my ears are going to hurt. There have been a lot of traffic stopping demonstrations lately. I’m never able to figure out exactly what is going on – since most of my co-teachers don’t live in the area and my Korean really isn’t good enough for me to tell at just a glance.
